My love for the sport started in 8u, when my All-Star team traveled to Florida for the 2015 Babe Ruth World Series. Since then, I've been playing travel and school ball. My hitting style is that of a contact hitter, focusing on finding gaps in the field. This also includes being a bunter, and reading the infielders to direct my bunt to the perfect spot to move runners, or myself, over. Defensively, I love playing as a middle because you have a lot of ground to cover. This allows me to dive for balls up the middle, and back up my corners to save plays. Some of my favorite things to do are dive on balls in the air, fake throws, and tag girls out on throw-downs to second.
Redbirds
As an athlete in a small, softball-centered town, there were so many girls in Allentown who played travel. Every year we would get together to play as a team together for our town, as the Allentown Redbirds. We played USABL and Babe Ruth tournaments, picking up many titles along the way. 4x District Champions, 2x State Finalists, 1x Babe Ruth World Series competitors, along with our undefeated season as USABL Champions where we mercied every team we played in the regular season. We might not have had a lot of time to play together, but we still made the best of it. Our travel seasons always interrupted being able to play in Regionals, the World Series, and sometimes States or even Districts. Yet, the same core group of girls had been able to play several times a year from the start of elementary school until the end of middle school. This helped us develop as players. Now, going into playing high school and travel together, we know all about each other's playing styles and how to best balance ourselves to play the best we can, and dominate.
