Personal Profile
Hello, my name is Kylie Elefante. I currently attend Allentown High School as a sophomore, in the graduating class of 2025. I am a field hockey goalkeeper who plays for Princeton Field Hockey Club, and I also guest for other teams during the season. I have been a varsity starter since my freshman year, which taught me a lot about hard work. Another big event in my field hockey career was when I made the trip down to Virginia for the Nexus Championship, where I had the chance to compete with the best players from around the USA.
In addition to field hockey, I also participate as a middle infielder in softball. I play for the Jersey Assassins, and love getting to travel all over to play. I’ve played travel for over six years, and have gotten to see some amazing places because of it.
Outside of sports, I have many other hobbies. In high school I am a proud member of the Nutshell, our school newspaper. I get to write about a variety of topics pertaining to our school, and the world around us. The Nutshell gives me a chance to inform the school on things I find important for us. I enjoy writing sports recaps/previews most of all, as it gives me a chance to reach out to other athletes in my community.
I have always enjoyed reading and writing, which teaches me different ways of conveying ideas, as well as helping me understand other's lives. Even when I was just an elementary schooler, I won the “top reader” award several years in a row in the Scholastic Reading Challenge. Similarly, I won the top literacy student award for Stone Bridge Middle School in 2021. I also participate in Unified Bowling to volunteer with special needs students at my high school. It is an incredible experience and loads of fun. Through middle school, I competed on the debate team. Debate taught me lots of skills that are vital in sports, like how to effectively communicate with teammates.
Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of traveling the world, with and without sports. I have had the chance to visit over half the United States, including several territories and countries outside of it. My favorite states to visit were Hawaii, California, and Illinois. Through the cruises that my family and I take, we get to visit all sorts of cool places. To name a few memorable destinations, I loved Martinique, Jamaica, St. Kitts, and Aruba. I'm so fortunate to have gotten the opportunities to go to these places, as it has taught me about other cultures and helped me meet so many amazing people. Although I’ve been to parts of France, my dream is to visit Paris and see the Palace of Versailles and the Eiffel Tower. Another place on my bucket list is definitely Greece, as the mythology surrounding it as well as the architecture has always interested me.
